Arnold van Bruggen
Arnold van Bruggen co-runs the documentary & storytelling company Prospektor, based in Amsterdam. Prospektor believes that every story needs its own format, either a book, an article, online, a film, in some sort of collaboration with designers and makers. In 2006 Arnold visited Abkhazia, which inspired him to start The Sochi Project, a pioneering crowdfunding project. In The Sochi Project Van Bruggen and photographer Rob Hornstra mapped the turbulent region around Olympic Sochi between 2009-2014. The Sochi Project published 9 books, a storytelling website and a travelling exhibition. Van Bruggen has directed films like Amsterdam-Kosovo (Tribeca Film festival 2005) and The Russian War (IDFA Film festival 2009). Prospektor created the interactive music documentary HiddenWounds.be (2013) and Love Radio (2014), an online interactive documentary on Rwanda.
